Plant noise simulation
Nihon Onkyo Engineering uses simulation models to analyze and propose the ways to reduce the effect of noise environmentally. Our noise-prediction software can calculate the effect of multiple reflections and diffractions, moreover, if necessary, implement complicated calculations that consider interferences of the sound. Of course, understanding the type of simulation model that needs to be made is an important and difficult matter; however, we handle more than 200 investigation and consulting projects every year. We use our knowledge and technology through analysis to find the best way to overcome the environmental noise problem.
Application of sound source identification technology
Nihon Onkyo Engineering uses Noise Vision, an omni-directional sound source identification system, to improve the accuracy of the simulation model by analyzing the results of noise source identification. In addition to identifying specific noise sources that have a big influence on a building site, screening with Noise Vision is also effective in verifying the accuracy of the simulation model.
Working environment noise simulation
Nihon Onkyo Engineering also uses simulation models to analyze and propose the ways to reduce the effect of noise in the working environment of a factory. Generally it is quite difficult to specify the noise generated from each machinery when entire factory facilities are in operation. However, using Noise Vision, it becomes easy to identify the noise source enables us to measure and visualize each noise source that affect to the workers.
Accuracy of noise simulation
We are sometimes asked about the accuracy of our noise simulation software. Nihon Onkyo Engineering conducts scale-model experiments for noise diffraction in our laboratory and compares the results with simulated results. The figure on the left above shows the results from our model experiment, and the right shows the results from the simulation. This comparison assumes a noise barrier and diffracted noise distribution by a barrier. These results are almost identical and ensure the effectiveness of the simulation software and model.
