The DL Series automatic aircraft noise measuring system originated in the field of noise measurement. Based on experience and technology gained from the noise measuring field by engineers familiar with aircraft noise, this system makes high-accuracy measurement a reality. Conforming to the "Aircraft Noise Measurement and Evaluation Manual" from the Ministry of the Environment, measurement data obtained by the system can be used as Lden and weighted equivalent continuous perceived noise level data. A wide variety of customizations are available to suit customer requests based on constant-monitoring (fixed station) or portable-type (mobile station) systems.

In addition to recording noise measurement data even for aircraft noise that does not satisfy the measurement recording conditions, radio wave-based identification information is also recorded simultaneously, ensuring that even ambiguous data that is only suspected of being aircraft noise is not overlooked. Moreover, a built-in sound-recording function allows users to record signal waveforms of unwanted sound (actual sounds).
Using Nihon Onkyo Engineering's summarization program, processing is performed even for measured data for areas where there is not much difference between aircraft noise and background noise, ensuring identification of aircraft noise.

24-hour constant monitoring, 365 days a year -- Fixed monitoring stations
Constant monitoring stations (fixed measurement stations) are able to operate continuously 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. This measurement device can be installed on a cabinet rack alongside commercially available handheld sound level meters and Nihon Onkyo Engineering's "Aircraft Approach Detection and Identification Device" as well as data communication equipment and battery power to prevent power failure. Such cabinet rack can be used either indoors or outdoors depending on the installation location.

Measuring instruments are stored compactly in a case that makes transportation less of a hassle. This configuration also requires less installation space. A "multi-cable" embodying a variety of sensor cables--including for microphones, identification devices, and atomic clocks--is used to provide drastic reductions in on-site setup and removal.
