Noise distribution status and forecast

Areal evaluation of aircraft noise, or noise contour creation, involves measured values taken from numerous measurement points or through simulation calculations. Due to the fact that measuring at numerous points to create a valid noise contour is difficult in practice, simulations are generally used. Nihon Onkyo Engineering's basic database was constructed using actual data from aircraft noise and flight path measurements. This database allows us to create noise contours that match actual conditions.

We create noise contour plots from the results of predictive calculation of noise levels that occur at any locations or mesh points, aircraft noise evaluation values (Lden or weighted equivalent continuous perceived noise levels), the number of noise occurrences exceeding 70 dB, and cumulative noise generation times, by using flight patterns that include flight frequencies and flight ratios configured with taking into consideration takeoff/landing status, aircraft model, destination, and other information, as well as sound pressure level-slant distance curves. Noise contour diagrams that consider on-site sounds such as taxiing and engine run-up can also be created.

Flight pattern model

Flight route image Flight route analysis results can be used as basic prediction calculation data in order to create a flight pattern model for specific aircraft models. Analysis of data from manual flight route examinations and from flight path measurement systems allows for creation of flight path models that reflect actual variations.
