The objective of aircraft noise monitoring is wide ranging such as achievement of the environmental quality standard and controlling the noise area based on the noise abatement regulation. This is necessary to compile and analyze the measured data and to report the result. Aircraft noise data processing system manages the measured data, compiles and analyzes data automatically and effectively. The simplest hardware configuration for aircraft noise data processing system is using a PC and a printer in the office. It is possible to conduct a more efficient way of compiling and analyzing the works by installing our primary software. The main features of operations are the following below.

About aircraft noise data measurement, even though you can go to the site where the equipment is located and pickup up the memory card by yourself, this would take time to collect and to process the data. Especially for continuous noise monitoring, due to numerous monitoring stations, this work will be very hard.
NAE's noise monitoring device (DL Series) equipped with a LAN interface by default makes it possible to easily go online and to add devices applied to the communication line, such as a public line, leased line, broadband, mobile telephone, and etc. Therefore, you can monitor the aircraft noise and collect huge data from your office with saving the workload.
Going online makes it possible to construct a large system comprised of more than 100 continuous monitoring stations easily, and at the same time, the aircraft noise data processing system will enable the load sharing and the data management of fault tolerance. NAE offers the best variety of solutions from one PC system to a large system comprised of multiple PCs, according to the size of the total system.

The airport operator manages the "Airport Operational Data (AOD)" as the necessary information for air traffic control (ATC). AOD includes information such as the departure and arrival time, the flight number, the departure and arrival airport, the flight purpose, the model and the airline of aircraft. By cross-checking them with the measured aircraft noise data, it will be available to do various analyses for noise impact as follows.

  • Extracting the aircraft noise produced by the aircraft used the target airport
  • Analysis for noise impact according to taking off and landing
  • Analysis for noise impact according to the model of aircraft

This system offers implementation and support of various analyses by cross-checking AOD with the aircraft noise, according to the purposes and the requests by the customers.

In general, AOD is only collected for civilian flights, and it is impossible to get any information about military flights. In addition, AOD is the information for ATC, and it does not include the information required for noise impact assessment in most cases.
NAE develops and offers the "Automated measurement system for takeoff/landing time and using runway of aircrafts (DL-TLS)" to measure AOD including the information required for noise impact assessment automatically. It will be possible to analyze the noise impact without AOD. And also, more sophisticated analysis such as the compilation classified according to runway operations will become possible. By collaborating with DL-TLS, full automation from measuring to compiling and analyzing the aircraft noise becomes possible.

Support on streamlining of shared data and the integration of data processing system

In general, the Aircraft noise is monitored by multiple autonomous bodies around the airports. Although it is common that each autonomous body maintains and manages the measurement equipment and the data processing system, there are a lot of cases that they would like to assess the measured data widely beyond the border on an objective such as monitoring the noise contour.
NAE supports streamlining the operation by sharing the measured data with other local governments at a permanent monitoring station among autonomous bodies (Data Sharing) and integrating the aircraft noise data processing systems with multiple autonomous bodies (Integration of data processing system), and offers the technology needed as well as the operational support.
