Industrial Noise Simulation

Using a simulation model to analyze and create ways to fight industrial noise. Our noise prediction software 'GEONOISE' not only can calculate the multiplex reflection and diffraction, but also, if necessary, implement the complicated calculation considering an interference of the sound. Of course understanding what type of simulation model we need to make is important and difficult matter, however, our consulting department with more than 200 actual results of investigation/consulting every year. In our company, we have a department which develops software or measurement system, and the department undertakes consignment research or acoustical design/construction, too. Using our knowledge and technology, we will analyze to find the best way to overcome industrial noise.

Application of sound source prospecting technology

Result of sound source prospectingour omni-directional sound source analyzing system 'Noise Vision', analyzes the noise source result, and it also has a high degree of accuracy as a simulation model. Using Noise Vision to screen the specific sound source which influences the surroundings of a building site which this is available to verify the accuracy of a modeling simulation of the present noise environment, too. For high-precision investigation of noise reduction, understanding the cause of the present noise is the most important point before anything can begin.

Even though it is quite difficult to specify the outset of the sound volume in case of all factory facilities, analysis of the sound source enables us to measure and visually see the noise source which is bothering employees. Using our sound source model it is easy and effective to measure the data that needs to be analyzed.

Comparison between Experiment and Simulation result

Sometimes, there are questions about the accuracy of our noise simulation software. The answer is, we implement a model experiments regarding the diffraction effect of the noise in our laboratory (anechoic room) and compare them with the simulation results of using 'GEONOISE'. The above left hand side figure shows the results from our model experiments, and the right hand side is from the simulation. This is a comparison of a diffracted effect from the wall against the sound source on the lower right, enclosed around the noise source and outside path of the sound, using an experimental simulation to create a favorable response.
In fact, the noise simulation and the accuracy of the modeling are important factors as well as the software. Using the sound source detection data generated by 'Noise Vision' will strengthen the precision of the simulation model.
